Week 14 Final Critique Self- Assignment

I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving Break and is ready to finish up the semester. This week we will be conducting our final critique on the self-assignments. Makes sure you read Self-Assignment #6 and follow the directions. Not doing so could result in a reduction of points. 

 Class will start at 8am. Please be on time.

Week #13

This is the last week for all late assignments, exercises and redo’s to be handed in. Please have your folders label correctly and downloaded to our Google Drive folder no later than 8:00am the day of class. 

Also if you would like to have a pre final critique, have 6-7 images ready to share on the day of class. We can talk about what works or doesn’t work. You will share your screen so there is no need to download to Google drive.

Class with start at 9:00am for both groups. 

Week #12 Self - Assignment Critique #5

 This week we will be conducting Critique #5 of your Self-Assignments.

Week #11 Exercise #4

This week we will be conducting critique of your Exercise #4

and follow the directions to the letter.  I will be deducting points for incomplete work or work handed in late.  Exercise #4 should be downloaded to our Google Drive by 5pm the day before class. Please make sure files and folders are label correctly.

Week #10

Week 8 mid-term

Week #7 Exercise #3 Due

Class will start @ 8am this week.  We will be critiquing Exercise #3.  

Please review Exercise #3 making sure that you follow the directions precisely. 

Failing to do so can result in lower final points.  

ATTENTION: 

Those of you who are behind on your Self - Assignment, please get those upload to Google drive the day before class this week so we can critique them.  Don't get behind in your assignments!

Week #6 Critique on Self - Assignment.

Class will start a 8 am (both Group A&B).

During class we will be critiquing new images of our self-assignments. Please make sure you follow directions stated under Assignment#2 (2nd Critique) and have your files downloaded to the appropriate Google drive folder before class. 

Week #5 Exercise #2 Due

 Things to note for Week #5: 

• Class will start at 9:00am both Group A & B 
• Exercise #2 due the day before class.  Please email to me. Make sure the contact sheet is labeled correctly. Read Post under Assignment #1 (Updated)
• We will be using Zoom (not YouSeeU ) this week.  An email will be send to you will a link that you click on to join the meeting.  
• Assignment #2 will be the same as Assignment #1 with a few changes marked in RED

Week #2 Email Proposals (updated)

The proposals I have seen so far are looking pretty good.  

When you email me your final draft please use the following subject in your email: 

Group A ( Tuesdays)

The subject needs to be exact so it will go into the right folder.  You can copy and paste,

Label your final draft as follows:

Week #1: Direction for YouSeeU Virtual Classroom

Hey everyone a little up date. If you don’t get an email directing you to a link for our meeting, please try going through D2L using the following steps:

 

1. Click on the select a course icon

2. Click on PHO397.01B Developing Photographic Ideas

3. Click on YouSeeU Virtual Classroom - scheduled meetings will show up.

4. In the box labeled "Class Meetings," the meeting you need to attend will have an icon with an arrow pointing to the right with a box around it, under "Action."  

5. There are tests you can do to make sure your computer/laptop/tablet is compatible. You must use Google Chrome or Firefox.

6.When it is time for your meeting click on the blue "enter meeting" icon to attend the meeting.

7. Once in the meeting, please choose to join with audio and a microphone. 

 

Group A will meet @ 9am, Tuesday Aug 25^th

Group B will meet @ 9am, Thursday Aug 27

Week #1: Virtual Classroom Meeting (updated)

Our first day of class will be online and in your assigned groups. 

 Group A  will meet @ 9am  on Tuesday Aug 25

Group B  will meet @ 9am on Thursday Aug 27. 

 

Each of you will be receiving an email with a link to "YouseeU - Virtual Classroom" with the date and time.  You should have received an email noting which Group  you are in. This is a mandatory meeting so please be on time.  We have a lot to go over and I’m sure there will be some technical problems and questions.  

Note: When signing in please do your Computer Pre-Check and follow the Quick Tips on the meeting lobby page. 

If I can ask, please be patient throughout the semester and email me if you have any problems signing on to our virtual class. 

Welcome to PHO 397 Developing Photographic Ideas

This site is for students enrolled in PHO 397.01b (T/R 8:00a -10:50a) Developing Photographic Ideas during the Fall Semester of 2020. Students should check this blog every day during the semester for updates on assignments, when class will meet, etc.  This is the main way I will be communicating with you, along with emails.

 

Students will be split into two groups. Group A will meet primarily on Tuesdays and Group B will meet primarily on Thursdays. It will be to the students benefit to dedicate both Tuesdays and Thursdays between 8a to 10:50am to working on assignments for this class. There may be times that the entire class will meet on either of these days. Note: Any F2F or online meetings will be conducted between 8am to 10:50am on Tuesdays and Thursdays. 

 

Attendance on the first day of class is mandatory!

During the first week of class each group will meet online.  Group A will meet on Tuesday, August 24, 2020, and Group B will meet on Thursday, August 26, 2020. Info on how to sign in and which group you are in will be sent via email. There is a lot of material to cover that first day plus we will be going over our first assignment, so please be on time, prepared to take notes and to stay awhile. Failing to attend that first day could count against your attendance grade.
